I have been using the Whip Specials for 3 seasons now and find the long Fiber tip spot on for showing up the shyest of bites. This pattern now covers all my to hand (Whip) fishing, I have also found that by fishing this rig 2 inches (50mm) off the bottom aids in the catch rate more so than an Olivet rig would when roach are the target fish. My shotting pattern for this float could not be simpler a bulk of No. 11 shot.  8 inches (200mm) from the hook (which can be spread if need be) and 2 No. 7 styles spaced evenly between bulk and hook .
