I use this superb float almost exclusively for all my non-bloodworm fishing.

This float is in fact a lot more versatile than the name suggests and can be used to present a variety of baits from big maggot to hemp.

The body -up shape makes it spot on if the canal you are fishing is flowing, due to lock gate movement and the addition of a small back shot makes this float the most stable I have used in bad surface skim ( which can be a real problem on the canals I fish ).

The slightly thickened bright tips on these floats make them easy to see against the variety of different backdrops that you are likely to come across on urban canals. For example, in London you could be faced with such difficult backgrounds as factory walls, open car parks or even metal or wire fences (the most difficult backdrops of all). You can see these floats with no doctoring at all.

Whether you are using a bulked up positive rig or a strung out styl rig to catch on the drop, these floats are just right.

Try using two rigs to fish the same line. A 4x14 rig bulked up with No. 11 shot and with 3 No. 12 droppers evenly spaced out to the hook (This is the positive rig that will get the bait down into the catching area quickly). A 4x12 rig shotted with a staggered bulk of a string of No. 8 styl weights and  4 x No. 7 styl weights spaced out to hook, will give a completely different presentation. If the wind is bad or if the top of the water is skimming badly you can even use the same 4x14 size float with the strung styls. By alternating between the two rigs you will find that you can keep fish coming longer than with just one rig and you will be amazed at what a difference swapping between the rigs makes to the species and/or size of fish you are catching.

One of my favorite rigs is to use a 3x10 float for catching on the hemp in the summer. Use a string of No. 8 styl weight evenly spaced out over the bottom half of the depth and you will have great fun catching big Roach on the 'seed' that you just would not catch with a heavier rig.
