Designed for
use on the Grand Union Canal around Leighton Buzzard. Where locks are always
being opened for boat traffic. I use this pattern from London right through to
Northampton, in fact any canal that flows or has surface drift movement. Just
at home on the Fen Drains, as it is an excellent float for holding back
against the flow. I have used this float with nylon bristles in the summer and
reverting to fiber or wire in winter.
My shotting patterns are as follows:
4x16 (shot) bulk of No. 8 tight together and 3 No. 12 as droppers.
4x14 (shot) bulk of No.9 slightly spread and 3 No.13 as droppers.
4x12 (shot) bulk of No.11 slightly spread and 3 No.13 as droppers.
4x10 (shot) spread out No.12
